Human Designs

Human Designs is a quarterly publication exploring mental health across people, communities, and organisations.

Created by psychotherapist Emilia Burghelea, Human Designs brings together her clinical practice, research, and systems thinking into one independent editorial practice.

Each issue begins with a theme and follows it through five different lenses: story, culture, research, collective life, and conversation.

Therefore, Human Designs is asking how our inner lives are shaped by the relationships, environments, systems, and stories we move through.

Five lenses

Elsewhere opens fictional doors into another way of seeing.

The Bigger Picture looks at the social and collective contexts that shape human experience.

A Closer Look explores the theme in greater depth through research and reflective inquiry.

On Display turns towards culture, art, media, and design.

Dialogue invites practitioners, thinkers, and artists into conversation.

So, each season, I invite you to explore a new theme together — with curiosity for what it might reveal about the ways we live, relate, and work.
